Simon’s San Francisco Adventure

Please join us on Labor Day weekend for the Glendale Harley Owners’ Group ride to San Francisco and back down the coast along Highway 1.  This is a three day ride to celebrate the beauty of our state and one of the most storied, oceanic paths between its two iconic cities.  We will be staying at the Best Western in Corte Madera on Friday, August 29, and in Cambria on Saturday, August 30.  The ride will end on Sunday, August 31 at Neptune’s Net on Pacific Coast Highway.

Below is a blueprint for the Labor Day SF trip for those of you who are interested in going.  

Friday, Meet at Glendale Harley at 7am, KSU 7:30.

83 miles:  2N to 210W to 5N to Valero station in Lebec, Exit 215:  Gas stop.

119 miles:  5N to Exit 334, Harris Ranch Express (menu link).  Gas stop and lunch.

Harris Ranch has an app so you can pre-order your lunch

72 miles to Chevron, Exit 403B, CA 152W for 2 miles.  Gas stop.

123 miles to Best Western Corte Madera, gas stop at Chevron across the street to avoid having to fill up in the morning, then check in to the hotel (5N, 580W to 101S, Exit 449B). HOTEL Reservation link

Walk across the street for dinner at Il Fornaio.

Music and drinks at the pool and courtyard after dinner.
 

Saturday, Depart BW Corte Madera.  Meet at 7am, KSU at 7:30.  Ride Highway 1S to Sand Pebbles Inn, Cambria.  You can of course make your own reservations elsewhere in Cambria, but this is where we will stop.  228 miles, five hours of riding, approximately 8 hour day. (HOTEL RESERVATION LINK) If cambria is full consider San Simeon, Cayocous or Morro Bay as an alternative. 

 

Sunday, May 21:Depart Cambria, ride Highway 1S for 203 miles to Neptune's Net, where the ride will officially end.  Five hours of riding, approximately 8 hour day.
