As a member, we encourage you to sponsor a ride each year to a destination of your choice We will help you with the details and even lead the ride if you like. We are here to help you ride. All you have to do is join our chapter and get involved. Whether you like to ride every day or once a year, we are waiting for you. Let's ride!
Our Chapter has a long history of being a positive force in the community. Chapter members in distress count on their fellow members for support. We also support many local charities. Toy runs, charity rides and many other community enhancing events are given enthusiastic support by our chapter. Below are a few more examples.
Golden State HOG
Our chapter is a Harley Owners Group that loves to ride and we'd like you to join us. Ride with great people on some incredible routes. See beautiful sights, enjoy wonderful adventures, day rides, overnighters, dinner rides, mileage rides, toy runs and impromptu rides. The list is long, exciting and varied. Our chapter is about riding your Harley-Davidson with people who love to do the same.
We are committed to giving our members lots of reasons to be a part of the Golden State Glendale H.O.G. Chapter. The big reason to join is that we ride a lot. We also try our best to motivate you to participate in riding. Our newsletter will inform you, our website will remind you. You can also expect a few extra emails from us promoting rides. You may even get a phone call or two (for those of you who are just waiting for our call).
Our Chapter Charity
Every year the chapter "adopts" a worthy charity and spends the year in support of that cause. In the past we have supported the Good Shepherd shelter for homeless women, participated in the "Adopt a Family" program and contributed to the Veterans Administration Hospital. We tailor our assistance to the particular needs of the charity and hold various functions throughout the year to reach our contribution goals.
The Love Ride
The Love Ride was founded in 1984 by our sponsoring dealer, Oliver Shokouh. It became the largest motorcycling charity event in the world for an incredible 32 years. The festival raised over 25 million dollars for organizations such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), United Service Organization (USO), Autism Speaks, and long term support for Glendale Community College. The last Love Ride was in 2015, with Foo Fighters and Social Distortion, marked the end of the charitable fundraiser's 32 year run. Over the years, Jay Leno acted as Love Ride's Grand Marshall. Honorary Marshalls included Willie G. Davidson, Peter Fonda and Robert Patrick among others. Our chapter members made up a significant portion of the Love Ride Committee, as well as a large number of the event day volunteers. Visit www.loveride.org.
LADIES OF HARLEY
Ladies of Harley (LOH) is a program sponsored by National H.O.G., that supports women enthusiasts (both riders and passengers) in the sport of motorcycling. LOH members participate in special activities at various National H.O.G. rallies and other selected events.
At the local level, LOH members are influential in the Chapter's success, LOH also organizes their own rides. LOH meetings are periodically held throughout the year. The meetings are fun and very social. In fact, many of the guys in the chapter regularly participate in LOH functions.
